Happy Birthday!

Lots of reasons to celebrate today! One of which is simply because its Thursday and the week is almost over! Yay for weekends!!!

The other, much bigger and more important, reason we are celebrating today is because it is my Granny's birthday! Hooray!!! (far left)

Happy Birthday, Granny! I know I already told you this morning over the phone, but I wish so bad we were there to celebrate with you in person! I hope your day has been relaxing and full of joy! We love you so much!

Ashley's 9th Birthday!

I can't hardly believe my little Ash Tash is already 9!!! She celebrated her birthday almost 2 weeks ago and we were so happy to get to celebrate with her!
Ashley and Gracie had been staying with us in Fayetteville since Wednesday. We brought them back home on Friday where Ashley was surprised with a slumber party by a bunch of friends! Fun, right?!?!! Rumor has it they stayed up until 2 a.m. that night! Poor Leah! On Saturday all of the girls hung out in the pool until party time!
The only birthday gift Ashley really asked for in advance was an iPod touch. Well, guess what??? She got it!!! Its a sad day when the gifts little ones ask for change from toys and stuffed animals, to electronics, perfume, and jewelry!!!

Much Needed Weekend Getaway Part 2

Our weekend getaway was perfect and was exactly what we needed after an eventful week. We met my parents, sister, BIL, and nieces in St. Joe, AR for a weekend cabin stay and buffalo river float trip. Everything about it was wonderful.

My sister booked the cabin through the Buffalo River Outfitters. I definetly recommend this place. The cabin exceeded our expectations and was just the right size for the 8 of us. Not to mention that scheduling our canoe rental and shuttle service was beyond easy.

Friday afternoon we all arrived, unpacked and began our fabulous weekend. Aaron and I cooked dinner and we all played games both inside (cards) and outside (hillbilly golf and washers). Its always a great time being around my family.

We woke up early Saturday morning to my dad cooking us breakfast and then left to begin our floating adventure. The day started off pretty foggy, but quickly cleared up to a fantastic day. We floated most of the day making several stops to fish, swim, visit, and eat a delicious picnic lunch prepared by my sister and BIL. Funny side note: Dad, Mom, and Gracie flipped their canoe after only being in it for 2, maybe 5 minutes! Hilarious! At one spot on the river, lots of canoes backed up due to a fallen tree that made it tough to continue down the river. Jimmy and Aaron were great and helped lots of other canoes get through, including all of the Boy Scouts who floated that day.

Once we arrived back at the cabin, we cleaned up and went out for dinner at a local mexican restaurant. It was delicious. When we got back from dinner, we had a Hillbilly Golf tournament. The championship game was me and Aaron versus Ashley and Leah. Sad to say, but Aaron and I lost. For the rest of the evening we played cards and Taboo. We played Taboo for hours! It was hilarious and such a great time. Ashley was the buzzer and Gracie was the time keeper. They loved their jobs, to say the least!

Sunday morning we all got up and around pretty early. Aaron and I went to eat breakfast with my parents at a place called Ferguson's, while my BIL, sister, and nieces made their way to Branson, MO.

There's a truckload of pictures, so just be prepared :) I always have the hardest time picking out my favorites!
I've also been nominated for a blog award! I'll talk more about that tomorrow :)

Much Needed Weekend Getaway

Wow. Last week was a whirlwind for us, so a weekend getaway with family was just what the doctor ordered. The timing could not have been more perfect.

I have lots of fun pictures of our trip to share with you, but for now I'll leave you with just one. More to come tomorrow when I'm not quite so sleepy :)

I just cannot get enough of these people. Two days with them only left me wanting more! I love them :)
