Its been 10 long days since I've been to blog land and it feels like ages! Where has the time gone? We, along with all of you I'm sure, have been busy enjoying the Christmas season by spending time with friends and family, shopping for said friends and family, and all things in between.
Right now we are at home with our families. We are so thankful for the sweet people God has surrounded us with. It is always such a blessing to us to get to come home and enjoy them.
This Christmas, as many of you know, has been our 'First Christmas'. That makes me so excited. I'll have lots more posts to come related to this topic :) (Also, lots of posts about what we have been doing!)
But really quick, I must tell you about my favorite gift I received this Christmas. I'll have more about it later, but briefly, I received our 'Family Bible'. I'm sure most of you know how big of a deal this is. Its an amazing feeling to be a newlywed and to receive THE bible that will be THE bible you and your husband (and future children!) will read out of at least every Christmas, not to mention several other times every year. I was ecstatic when I first opened it and immediately teared up, followed by sweet Husband!
I hope your Christmas has been filled with joy and happiness!
Right now I have a 5 year old little girl sitting by my side wanting to play Sponge Bob Operation :) I love my sweet neices and my blessed life!

:) I love it! Its made by Northface and the fabric on the outside is so super soft and smooth. Its filled with some super light and super warm down and is still form-fitting, instead of being huge and puffy. I just love it. It feels like being wrapped up in a heater!
Husband was so super sweet to remember our "Jacket Deal". He couldn't have given it to me at a better time, because it is miserably cold outside....but then again, miserably cold for me is anything lower than 70 degrees :)
Once again, here is our little buddy, being a cuddle bug as always!

It's hard to tell in the picture, but its made out of several different fabrics giving it great texture. I just think it is perfect! Super texturey (is that a word? most likely not!) and did you notice the toe of it? Its so pointy and fun! Also, its a lot bigger than it looks in the picture. Its so hard to find big/roomy stockings that are still stylish. So, of course, when I found this one, I had to buy it.
I found it at Dillard's, and only this one. There were lots of other stockings that were a maroonish color, but I love the bright red. I searched several Dillard's stores, but had ZERO luck in finding another one. If you happen to run across it let me know! If we don't find one soon, I guess Husband won't get any stocking gifts this year :) Only kidding.
***If you have any suggestions on where to find big, stylish, roomy stockings, please pass along that information! Being a newlywed means starting new traditions from scratch, such as finding the stockings we will have for at least several years! Any help is appreciated!!!***
Tomorrow I'll let you in on an early gift I received the other night from Husband....he is too good to me you guys! Melts my heart :)
For now I will leave you with this handsome fella'!
He was trying to help, but then gave up! Isn't his little paw on my arm the sweetest thing ever??? He is The Cat of all cats. None come sweeter :)
Talk to you soon!

This one is on the kitchen counter. It reads, "May all your days be merry and bright, And may all your Christmases be white." Love it. Isn't that ornament great! I received it as a gift, too. I just love the ribbon on the top.

The first day of December always gets me so excited! I love the way it feels when every place you go is decorated for CHRISTmas!
Husband and I went shopping last night and are putting some finishing touches on our home decor for the holidays! Can't wait to show you pictures when things settle down a bit! I have a work dinner meeting tonight, so I'll try to post tomorrow!
Talk to you soon!

We think she's a beauty! Red, of course, is our most favorite color. When it comes to our tree, there is no such thing as "too much red." Here's a closer look at a few of the pieces:
We chose some ornate flower pieces to be the topper to our tree. Stars and angels, etc. are very traditional, which I love, but I had a hard time finding ones that I liked. I think these flowers are perfect.
Here are the super fun lime green ornaments we found, along with our golden beast of an ornament. I adore these. The bigger ornament, the better!
The brown beauties. I am Oh So Happy with how these turned out on the tree! Very different than what I'm used to, but the brown gives the tree a little bit of a modern flare. I just can't get away from my traditional taste too much :)
The red damask ornaments....oh my goodness. They are my absolute favorite. I found these last year in the after Christmas sales. What a steal of a deal I got on these! I searched at several different Dillards' stores to come up with the amount of these that I wanted (15). I still wish I had more :) Plus, I accidently shattered one....it was a very sad moment!
Not only do I love these red damask ornaments, but I love all of the extra accessories I found to go with them! Such as this red damask ribbon:
And this red damask towel that came as a set of two:
I can't wait to see all of y'alls trees and Christmas decorations out there!
Tomorrow I"ll share with you a delicious recipe for these scrumptious cookies :) I can't take credit for the recipe, but I will pass it along! (Notice that there is a cookie missing in this picture. I'll give you one guess as to who snagged it!) And, of course, I'll end with a picture of The Cat. He was wore out two weekends ago when we finished putting the tree up!(I need to start my Christmas shopping so I can have some pretty packages under our pretty tree!)
Take care and God bless,
